In detail

Everything in the interior design of the restaurant “Uzbek” reminds of the Central Asia: woven covers and pillows with a geometric pattern, an intricate ornament on metallic plates and carved chairs, painted tea bowls and shining tea pots. And even ochre hue on the walls reminds one of a hot noon and the shadow cast from a chestnut tree growing in the courtyard. You will be able to smoke a hookah leisurely and enjoy a sweet-scented tea with thyme while waiting for your order. All cooks come from Tashkent. The real enthusiasts of Uzbekistan cuisine will understand why it matters. The matter is that there are significant gastronomical differences inside the Uzbek cuisine.  Thus, pilaf in Tashkent is prepared in a different manner than in Samarkand, Fergana or Bukhara. And if you want to try the Uzbek cuisine in its refined capital variant, then you should choose Uzbek! Pilaf is of course among the most popular dishes of Uzbek. Here you will be offered two kinds of this delicacy: “Prazdnichnyi” (holiday) – garbanzo is added to it, and “Svadebnyi” (wedding) – its special taste comes from barberry, raisins and two kinds of carrots.  Rice of alanger sort, yellow carrots, spices are brought specially from Tashkent. The freshest cooled mutton is used.  We recommend trying lagman – here it is very special: it includes sweet pepper, napa cabbage, green runner beans, onion, mutton and spices.
