New Year in Moscow? Yes!

New Years Eve 2015 in Moscow

New Year's Day is certainly the most beloved and long-awaited holiday in Russia. This wonderful holiday awakens hopes for a better future and expectations of fulfillment of all desires in the coming year.

Celebrating New Year 2015 in Moscow is a great option for those who enjoy attending big get-togethers. There are plenty of brilliant offers – masquerades, balls, parties, clubs and contests. No doubt, mass character and large scale – that is what Moscow is all about.

Путешествие в Рождеств

New Year 2015 on Red Square

This is the most popular place among Muscovites and city guests. Here you can hear the bells ringing, meet famous singers and musicians, enjoy fireworks and go ice-skating. You cannot do without festivities à la russe – the Russians prefer singing, dancing and playing the harmonica.

New Year 2015 on Poklonnaya Hill

This is a place for those who want to celebrate the holiday traditionally and not too noisily. A large Christmas tree, great panorama and fireworks – this is the low-key program for family recreation. Children will especially appreciate the opportunity to take a reindeer sleigh ride. Holiday trolleybuses plying all night with drivers dressed as Father Frost will certainly add more colour to the festivity.

New Year 2015 in Moscow restaurants

When the soul longs for a full-fledged holiday thoroughly organized by someone, when you do not want to spend hours preparing Christmas treats – it is high time to celebrate New Year in a café or restaurant. You will only have to choose a smart outfit, presents for your beloved ones and, of course, opt for a particular place that will host your celebration. You can choose one of the "panoramic" restaurants in the capital ("Oblaka", "Zimny Sad", "Konservatoriya", "Krysha", "Karlsson") so that the holiday remained in the memory for a long time. All the restaurants have a spectacular view of the illuminated winter city spread out before you.

New Year 2015 in the open air

It is simply great to celebrate New Year outdoors, if the weather is fine! For many years in a row, wonderful concerts have been held on the Red, Lubyanka, Teatralnaya and Tverskaya Squares, as well as on Vasilyevsky Spusk. At the same time “sleepless” Moscow parks are always ready to welcome those who are willing to light sparklers, try aromatic mulled wine and go skating. A skating rink in the Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure holds on to the first place among the best ice rinks in Moscow. It is always nice to slide along frozen parkways in the light of lanterns to the strains of Christmas melodies. A small, but joyful artificial ice-field is also installed right in the heart of Moscow, on the Red Square next to the GUM.
